We were robbed
My wife and I went in to Huffman Koos to look for furniture for a house a house we were in contract to buy. The salesman (Peter) stated that this was a one day sale only and that this was the only time we would get these prices.
Feeling pressured, we chose a couch and love seat that was posted as a " Floor Sample " and supposedly at a dramatically reduced price. Hesitant about purchasing a floor sample, we were assured that it was just put on the floor and would be taken off the floor immediately. We put a 300.00 deposit as requested. We also saw a table and chair set also listed as a floor sample with the same scenario.
I contacted the store and was told we had time just bring in more money. I complied. When I got there, I saw the couch and sofa still on the floor, I questioned it, and upon second sight, we decided we really didnt like the set. The Manager of the store was there ( he refused to give his name) and said, that he had plenty of those couches and it was not ours that we had left a deposit on.
I stated, I no longer wanted the couch set and he agreed that I could apply all the money to purchase just the table and chair set. I then left more money and was told my balance was 199.00. I said ok, I will let you know when I am ready to move again, I was getting constant calls from them stating they needed a delivery date. I was going to just have them deliver the table to my home and they claimed, that they never said I could transfer the money to the table and chair set.
The also said if I dont pay for the couch I will lose my deposit. I went to the store to confront the manager, who was not only rude, but lied about ever saying he agreed to use the money for the table. The receipts were just copies, and I cold not find the receipt where he moved the money to the table set.
He refused to show me the receipts, and threw us out of the store. We tried to call corporate, noone picks up the phone and we left several messages still no response.

Verified ReviewerPoor quality of leather. Worst customer service!!!
Disgusted.
Do NOT shop at Huffman Koos. I am not one to post reviews but this deserves one.
I am disgusted. I recently ordered a couch and according to the agreement I signed, I had 72 hours to cancel or change my mind. I called 42 hours later to cancel and am now being told that the contract that was given to me was SUPPOSED to say I only have 24 hours to cancel or change my order. And now they are telling me that I can not get my money back, but the will give me a store credit!
They apologized, but told me the decision came from their Vice President!!! HA!!! It is not my fault! I was undecided in the show room but was assured by the salesperson that I could cancel within 3 days!!!
THEY made the mistake!!! Repeat: DO NOT SHOP with this company! I do not want a store credit Huffman Koos!
I don’t want to shop in a store that treats its customers as I am being treated! Horrible way to treat your customers!
NOT HAPPY!!!!!

Horrible
Purchased a living room ensemble from Farmingdale store last June- $6700 order. Was told 4 weeks MAX.
Waited 5 weeks before I called to complain.
By the time I got the furniture it was 13 weeks and we had to rent a truck and pick it up from one of their warehouses because they didnt deliver to my nieghborhood on a regular schedule so we would have been on a will advise. The worst service ever. Store never had an employee present nor the manager to speak to. Was sold a Guardian Protection plan that was pure upsell because they cover limited occurances so every possibility falls out of their responsibility.
I was told by the salesperson Daniel that if you have pets and children it is a must and will pay for itself, yeah ? Well Daniel good luck in trying to get Guardian to cover your kids and pets "accidental damage" because they dont! Once Guardian heard it was a pet and a tear they said sorry charlie. For what we paid we could have gotten two sets at Bobs and better service.
And they would have delivered on time. So much for getting what you paid for.

Bad service
I Jason with my wife and 4 month old daughter went to Huffman Koos in Middle Town NY on approximately November 2014. This location is about 15 minutes from my home.
Pete was the salesman and manager of the location. He was extremely friendly and easy to work with. He made my wife and I feel he was a trusting person. After approximately 3hrs we selected a bedroom set and asked if we could measure the set to see if it fit in our new homes bedroom.
Pete provided a tape measure. We told Pete that we would not be able to confirm if the furniture fit in the bedroom for another week or so. We asked if it would be ok if we did the application for financing so we didn’t need to come back if the furniture fit. Pete said that’s no problem we just won’t set up a delivery date.
Approximately a week later we called and spoke to a woman whom handled financing at the Middle Town, NY location. We informed her the set did not fit. She said she would need to speak to Pete and get back to me. The next day I needed to call again and once again I spoke to the finance lady whom said she still needed to speak to Pete.
A week went by and I called the location several times and said I no longer wish to receive a run around and demand to speak to Pete. Pete called back and said Huffman Koos has a no refund policy for purchases after 72 hours. I reminded him of our agreement and he said come in and see if there is something else we can do. We returned to the Middle Town location were Pete tried to sell us a more expensive bedroom set than we wished to pay for.
I reminded him once again of our agreement and asked him if he felt what he was doing was ethical. He replied it’s not my policy and I replied you never said we can’t do this because you only have 72 hrs to cancel, you told us it was ok knowing we would not be able to confirm until the following week and that we just won’t set up a delivery date. He replied you should have read the fine print then said just come back in a few weeks to see if anything else is appealing. We returned at least 20 times for 1 or more hours over a course of 2 years and found nothing.
Our last visit with Pete at that location reviled the store was closing and when I asked Pete to free us of this hostage situation he replied go to Paramus and get yourself a great area rug. I contacted customer service and spoke to a Krystal who said she would get back to me as soon as Pete gets back to her. Weeks go by without hearing from her. Several messages left without return calls.
Attempting to get help once again I tried a new number and spoke to Sherika at the Fairfiel NJ, branch. Sherika said Pete told Krystal we canceled two years later and it is not refundable. Two years later is a blatant lie. I explained to Krystal we wanted our money back the week after we found out the furniture did not fit as per the agreement we made with Pete and that we attempted to use the credit and we found nothing and to make matters worse there is no store near us.
Middletown closed and Paramus, NJ is over an hour away and that one is closed also. Sherika said she was going to speak to Krystal and Pete and call me the following day. It’s been a week and I still have not heard back. Now we are hostages for approximately 2.5 years.
Victims of an unethical person whom is supported by an unethical company. The service we received from Pete and now from customer service means the company is run this way. There is no longer any store locations near my home to visit and redeem my approximately $450.00 deposit which should have been refunded. It is even more unethical for them to believe we should travel an unrealistic distance to see if there is something else of interest.
Or to believe we should trust their business after this experience. Your help on this matter is of extreme importance. If you are unable to help In June 2017 I will be going to file a claim in small claims court against Huffman Koos.
I will also seek a permit to picket outside of their locations. Thank you Jason

I have had the worst experience with them over the past month. It is disgusting how they treat their customers!
I hope it all works out for you. I canceled mine within the time frame they gave me and they refused the cancel and are still trying to get me to purchase the sectional. They told me I only had 24 hours even though my contract said 72 hours and the saleperson told me I had 72 hours. After the fact when I canceled she told me she made a mistake and that she should have written that I only had 24 hours but she did not do it.
I even have a text from her admitting to her mistake. She then lied to my face saying they refunded my credit card and then a week later (still no refund to my credit card) called me trying to talk me into allowing her to deliver the couch. She said they would give me three days to decide whether I wanted it or not. I then asked if she had to charge the remaining balance to my credit card in which she shyly admitted yes.
Did they seriously think I would agree with that? The way I was treated for the past month, did they honestly think I was going to trust them and agree to that. I know as soon as that couch entered my home there was no way they were coming back for it and giving me my money back. She said they would put the whole thing in writing.
I have the whole thing in writing now and they haven't followed that! Then another week goes by and they try to offer me the couch for $500 less than what we agreed upon.
I DO NOT WANT THE COUCH FROM THIS COMPANY!! I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!
